The VBERC has played a major role in the textbook and curriculum development at the state and national level. Some of its faculty participated in development of the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) 2005. VBERC participated actively in development of the NCERT mathematics textbook for class-6 to 8. We have intensively participated in development of new school curriculum and textbooks in states of Jharkhand, Bihar, Chattisgarh and Andhra Pradesh. In the area of teacher development, VBERC made a major contribution in the development of IGNOU's certificate course in teaching of primary level mathematics, an important landmark in mathematics teacher's education in the country. Members of the VBERC resource group have been contributing in different similar efforts made in the development of teachers’ ability in the country and across different domains of knowledge
VBERC team has also been involved in various research studies on sociological as well as implementation aspects of school functioning at the field level. We seek to disseminate ideas, experiences, views and debates through a number of publications including reports, regular magazines Khojbeen and Buniyadi Shiksha, booklets, textbooks and workbooks, etc.
